TV icon LARRY HAGMAN  of DALLAS and I DREAM OF JEANIE has died at 81 in a Dallas hospital.

Hagman, a longtime fan favorite for his role as J.R  Ewing, died from complications of his battle with cancer.

Hagman died at 4:20 p.m. Friday at Medical City Dallas Hospital.

“Larry was back in his beloved Dallas, re-enacting the iconic role he loved most,” the family said in a statement.

 “Larry’s family and close friends had joined him in Dallas for the Thanksgiving holiday. When he passed, he was surrounded by loved ones. It was a peaceful passing, just as he had wished for.

“The family requests privacy at this time.”

Larry’s Dallas co-stars Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy were reportedly with him when he died.

Hagman, the son of Broadway legend Mary Martin (TV’s “Peter Pan”) first struck TV gold on “I Dream of Jeanie” with Barbara Eden during the 1960s.

Larry cemented his enduring fame on “Dallas”  when the nighttime soap premed on CBS in the 1980s becoming an international hit and then reprised the role on the recent cable reboot.
