Dallas star LARRY HAGMAN has confirmed a cancer diagnosis, The ENQUIRER has learned.

Hagman, 80, said in a statement: "As J.R. I could get away with anything – bribery, blackmail and adultery.

“But I got caught by cancer."

Hagman declined to elaborate but claimed it's "a very common and treatable form" of cancer.

Hagman, who first achieved fame on “I Dream of Jeanie”, said he will resume working playing  J.R. Ewing again on a new version of "Dallas" for TNT, which begins lensing Monday.

The original series aired from 1978 to 1991.

In the mid 1990s, Hagman underwent a liver transplant.

"As we all know, you can't keep J.R. down," Hagman said.
