LANCE & MATT WHEELS OF FEAR

Biking great Lance Armstrong and Today host Matt Lauer two-wheeler-crackup!

First, Lance crashed during the first stage of a five-day race in Spain, breaking his collarbone.  Lance will go under the knife to see if he can recuperate fast enough to go for his historic run at another Tour de France championship.

Meanwhile Matt Lauer was riding his two-wheeler on Long Island when he was startled by a deer and cracked up, landing on his shoulder.

Matt should be back at work with cohost Meredith Vieria later in the week after surgery.

Neither Lance nor Matt's noggin was injured as both wore helmets.
