Quincy ME star Jack Klugman mad as hell – gets litigious!
The former Odd Couple star and star of long running Quincy ME is suing Universal City Studios in LA Superior Court for alleged missing profits.
Klugman who starred in the series from 1976 – 1983 claims he never signed a written compensation contract but instead had an oral agreement with the studio giving him 25 percent of the series’ net profits.
The prior oral agreement was subsequently mentioned in "various writings", Klugman attests.
Klugman’s attorney say that an audit revealed Universal had falsely claimed losses and "intentionally manipulated the accounting in an attempt to show that plaintiffs are not owed any ‘net profits.’"
Universal has yet to respond to Klugman’s charges.
