KEVIN COSTNER: MY SKIRT-CHASING DAYS ARE HISTORY

LADY-slayer Kevin Costner says he’s done with womanizing!

After the breakup of his 16-year marriage to wife Cindy in 1994, Costner played the field with a vengeance, becoming one of Hollywood’s most renowned ladies’ men and fathering an out-of-wedlock son with rich heiress Bridget Rooney.

Getting divorced, he confesses, “hurt me a lot.”

But in an amazingly candid interview, the 45-year-old “Dances With Wolves” star says the stability has finally returned to his life — thanks to a girlfriend almost 20 years younger. He is wholeheartedly committed to gorgeous blonde Christine Baumgarten, 26.

“I’m interested in just one person right now and seeing what that feels like again,” confided Costner.

Although he says he’s not yet ready to marry, Christine is the first girlfriend since his divorce that he has spoken about to his children.

“Just because you go through divorce doesn’t mean you stop being a dad. You do everything you can to protect them,” said Kevin, who has three children, ages 12, 14 and 16, with ex-wife Cindy.

Despite their deep feelings for each other, Costner, who stars in the new movie “Thirteen Days,” says that his relationship with Christine got off to a shaky start.

“I met her six years earlier in a restaurant and talked to her for 15 minutes. It was the year of my divorce and I was in a fog in my life at that moment. Six years later, she came up to me when I was at a restaurant with friends and said: `I’m six years older, do you feel like talking to me now?'”

They’ve been talking ever since!

After his divorce six years ago, the splashy “Waterworld” hero made waves with Mira Sorvino, Joan Lunden, Elle Macpherson, Angie Everhart, Marla Maples, Carla Bruni, Cheryl Tiegs, Courteney Cox, Tawny Little and Naomi Campbell.

FAST FACT!
Costner’s full frontal nude scene in “For Love of the Game” was cut after it was reportedly met by laughter at test screenings.

Now Costner places great significance on the fact that he’s stepping out in public with Christine on his arm and proudly showing her off as his one and only girlfriend.

“I want to be really clear. I’ve never set myself out to be a saint. I wasn’t lonely. I had friends. But I think there is a difference as to how you conduct your life out in public, and you don’t just put somebody on your arm who doesn’t mean much to you. You just don’t do it.”

Happily, Kevin’s youngsters accept Christine in his life — and theirs.

“When you’ve raised your kids right, they know that you deserve love like they are going to deserve love,” said the actor.

“I’ve had a blessed life and enjoy it.”
