KELSEY: I’M OVER THE MOON WITH A BABY ON THE WAY

“FRASIER” star Kelsey Grammer is going to be a new dad — he and his wife Camille are expecting a baby girl through a surrogate mother in two months’ time.

“This is our dream baby,” Kelsey told The ENQUIRER in an exclusive interview.

“Since we first got married our greatest dream has been to have a family together. Now that dream has come true. Camille and I couldn’t be any happier.”

Kelsey, 46, and 33-year-old Camille decided to have a child through a surrogate because of Camille’s Irritable Bowel Syndrome condition.

Several doctors told Camille, who has headed a national campaign to raise awareness about IBS, that she would not be able to take a child to full term because of the severity of her case.

Camille and Kelsey opted for the test-tube fertilization process, combining his sperm and her egg. And they found an experienced surrogate mother to carry the child.

“It’s every bit as exciting as when I had my first daughter, Spencer, 16 years ago,” said Kelsey, who also has a 9-year-old daughter, Greer, from an earlier relationship. “I feel so blessed.

“And Spencer is as excited about the baby as Camille and I.”

Kelsey was introduced to Camille by his agent at a dinner party back in June 1996, shortly after breaking off a lengthy relationship with then-fiancee Tammi Alexander.

It was pretty much love at first sight for Kelsey and blonde New York-based model Camille.

And in August 1997, the couple wed in a lavish outdoor ceremony at Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu, Calif.

FAST FACT!
Camille was a principal dancer on “Club MTV” during her first year of college.

“Camille made it all come together for me,” Kelsey told The ENQUIRER.

“I found the woman of my dreams and everything else fell into place.

“We found a wonderful home and spacious grounds in Malibu overlooking the sea.

“‘Frasier’ has been running like a Rolls-Royce. It’s a joy to go to work and work with the best writing team and most superb acting ensemble in television.

“And we’ve been renewed for three more years,” added the star, who will reportedly be making $1.6 million an episode and producing and directing a number of other projects as well.

“I have real peace and love in my life. And now I get to share it with a brand-new baby.

“While I’ve been prepping for the new season, Camille has been readying the nursery.

“Life just doesn’t get any better than this.

“Oh, and if anybody has any ideas for names for a baby girl, as Frasier Crane says, ‘I’m listening!'”
