Days after Fox axes KEIFER SUTHERLAND’s series TOUCH comes stunning announcement that he’s returning as JACK BAUER in 24 reboot.

The new series called “24: Live Another Day” will showcase a 24-hour story over 12 episodes.

The original which spanned 192 episodes and a TV movie from 2001-10 -- will be produced by its former showrunner, Howard Gordon ( Homeland), The Hollywood Reporter said.

They were hoping to do a big screen version but that project fizzled becuase of budget issues.

 Fox will debut the limited series in May 2014.
