After partying with R-PATTZ, boozy-woozy KATY PERRY reaches out and touches ex-hubby RUSSELL BRAND since her bustup with rocker John Mayer, say sources.
Devastated over her failed romance, Katy,27, called her ex in tears and asked: “What’s wrong with me?” according to a close friend.
“Katy has been hitting the booze and then calling Russell in a state of distress,” the source told The ENQUIRER.
“Russell still cares deeply for her, and he’s furious that she was treated so badly, so he’s trying to comfort her.”
As The ENQUIRER has reported, Katy was demoralized after Mayer, 34, barraged her with suggestions that she go on a diet.
“Katy knew John’s reputation for mind games, but she let her defenses down,” said the source. “Friends finally convinced her to dump him, but she still feels utterly used.”
Single-again Katy has been partying with a vengeance, and was spotted with her pal Robert Pattinson of “Twilight” fame on Aug. 22 at Los Angeles’ trendy Soho House.
With Rob still stinging from his betrayal by cheating girlfriend Kristen Stewart, the two offered each other a shoulder to cry on, a source told The ENQUIRER.
“Katy’s very disillusioned with men, but Rob told her she has to pick herself up and focus on work,” said the friend. “He said that the right guy will come along when she least expects it.
“She’s also reached out to Rihanna and told her that she wants to be more like RiRi with her love-’em-and-leave- ’em attitude toward men.”
Meanwhile, 37-year-old British comic Brand is now reportedly dating Spice Girls star Geri Halliwell, 40, after the two met at the Olympics closing ceremony in London.
“Everyone hopes Katy realizes that Russell is just being a good listener,” said her friend, “and there’s no chance of them getting back together.”
