Bates underwent a double mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer.
Doctors discovered a lump in Bates’ breast several weeks ago and the ovarian cancer survivor decided to have the operation.
“Luckily, I don’t have to undergo radiation or chemo,” The Harry's Law star told media. “My family calls me Kat because I always land on my feet, and thankfully this is no exception.”
Bates, 64, insists she still will attend the Emmy Awards on September 23rd as she was nominated as Best Actress of the now canceled crime show “Harry’s Law”.
“My doctors have assured me I’m going to be around for a long time."
