Kathie Lee Gifford confesses her fear of dementia, her battle to maintain her looks and constant worry about much older husband Frank in a shocking new tell-all.
But with typical good humor, the 55-year-old entertainer jokes about her "lard ass, thighs and stomach" while chronicling exactly how she is falling apart.
The talk queen – who roared to fame on Live With Regis & Kathie Lee and co-hosts Today – writes in new tome When I Thought I’d Dropped My Last Egg: Life and Other Calamities that she fears getting the same hideous form of dementia that slowly killed her father.
"He was diagnosed with Lewy body dementia, a degenerative condition that lingers for several years and prevents the brain from sending signals to the body’s vital organs," a publishing source divulged.
"He died in 2002, and now Kathie Lee prays she won’t become a victim of dementia."
In her deeply personal book, Kathie Lee also expresses concern over her aging husband, Frank Gifford, 78, whose notorious 1997 affair with a flight attendant badly rocked their marriage.
Kathie Lee also admits to undergoing cosmetic procedures – including Botox and laser treatments, according to the publishing source.
"With all the other sagging parts of her body, Kathie Lee says she has a bad case of ‘epidermal disintegration.’
"The left side of her body has been deteriorating at a faster pace than her right side. Her left eye rejects contact lenses. The left part of her top lip wrinkles up," the source revealed.
Although Kathie has nixed a face-lift for fear of a botched job she recently had her feet reconstructed by a surgeon.
The tell-all will be published in April.
