JULIA ROBERTS was nowhere in sight when her married boyfriend gathered with family to mourn the death of his mother.
In fact, the Pretty Woman sipped champagne at her $925-a-night hotel suite while heartbroken cameraman Danny Moder grieved after mom Patti died from a heart attack.
The star entertained her mother Betty Motes at the Hotel Bel-Air, seemingly ignoring the fact that her affair with Danny had split his family so badly that many relatives refused to talk to him at the August 28 funeral of Patti Moder in Pacific Palisades.
Some members of the Moder family believe Patti’s death was triggered by Danny’s affair with Julia, insiders say.
“Danny’s father is furious,” a source said. “Patti was very opposed to her son’s relationship with Julia, and the family feels that Danny’s actions broke his mother’s heart, literally!”
Though Julia was absent from Patti’s funeral — perhaps respecting the wishes of some Moder family members who did not want her there — Danny’s estranged wife Vera was everywhere.
“They were acting very much like what they still are . . . a married couple!” said an observer. “If I were Julia, I might be a little worried.”
