John Legend temporarily lost his luggage — when it was stolen by a cab driver!
Augustin Hilario — a 63-year-old driver has been charged with grand larceny, attempted grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property after snatching one of Legend’s bags outside JFK Airport!
Sources said the grammy-winning singer noticed the bag was missing once he arrived at his hotel after landing in New York from France. He then notified Delta Airlines and Port Authority police.
Detectives reviewed surveillance video from the terminal and saw Legend’s $5,000 black Louis Vuitton bag was left unattended — allowing Hilario to pick it up and run off with it!

The bag contained $25,000 Cartier Panther cuff links with clear and green stones, a $500 pair of sunglasses and $500 worth of clothing. Police were due to return the bag and all of its contents to Legend.
Hilario told officers he planned to take the bag to the airport’s lost and found. The crafty cabbie is awaiting arraignment in Queens criminal court and faces up to seven years in jail if convicted.
“The bag was taken because it was left unattended. The airport police caught the person who took it (on video) and retrieved my bag,” tweeted the singer to his nine million followers. “Thanks to the airport police/security. One could say it’s been ‘handled.’”
“I know I should not have taken it. I made a mistake,” said Hilario.
