John, 61, has been quietly lobbying potential Democratic White House hopefuls to help with their campaigns, sources said – less than five years after he was indicted on federal charges for using nearly $1 million in campaign funds to cover up his extramarital affair.
John knows potential frontrunner Hillary Clinton “won’t want him anywhere near her campaign,” a pal said, but the disgraced former North Carolina Senator and 2004 vice-presidential candidate has been trying to worm his way into the campaigns of other possible contenders.
“John still believes he can contribute to a campaign. He’s delusional, but he’s going to try,” said the source.
