JOHN EDWARDS WANTS TRIAL POSTPONED!

Edwards_story
In a bombshell new development disgraced two-time presidential loser JOHN EDWARDS wants his conspiracy trial postponed, The ENQUIRER has learned.

John Edwards’ attorneys have asked for more time to prepare for his trial, citing the complexity and novelty of the case and his daughter Cate's plans to marry in October as reasons for their request.

In a blistering document filed in federal court, Edwards’ legal guns argued there’s not enough time if the historic trial proceeds in October, as docketed.

Edwards’ lawyers have requested a federal court hearing to argue the issue with prosecutors.
“The novelty of the government's theory in this case is… no candidate has ever been prosecuted on this theory," Edwards’s barristers Jim Cooney and Wade Smith stated in their request.

AS The ENQUIRER reported in a series of investigative reports that enlightened federal prosecutors — Edwards, 58, violated Presidential campaign finance laws by obtaining and using secret contributions from two wealthy supporters, Rachel "Bunny" Mellon and Fred Baron, to hide his mistress Rielle Hunter and her love child pregnancy from the public during his failed presidental bid in 2008.

Edwards claims he did not break the law although it is well documented that he repeatedly lied to the American public and his late wife, Elizabeth.

The embattled love rat added a prominent lawyer Abbe Lowell, from Washington DC to his defense team last week.

According to legal docs filed, legal gun-for-hire Lowell is ill-prepared time-wise “to participate meaningfully in (Edwards) defense."
