Jodie Foster has snagged herself a co-star – on the set of The Beaver!
The two-time Oscar winner is teaming up with 24 president Cherry Jones on a new flick, and insiders say there’s something going on between the two.
"Jodie and Cherry both ended romances with other women recently, and they’ve hit it off," an insider told The ENQUIRER.
"There was definite chemistry between them when they met, and everyone on the set is buzzing that the two make an adorable couple. They both seem incredibly happy."
Film legend Jodie, 46, had been involved with writer-producer Cindy Mort. They fell for each other on the set of The Brave One in 2006, and Jodie abruptly dropped Cydney Bernard, her live-in love of 14 years.
But as The ENQUIRER exclusively reported, Jodie got the kiss-off when Cindy rekindled a romance with an old flame.
Meanwhile, Cherry – an accomplished actress with both Emmy and Tony awards – recently found herself single again after ending a 5 1/2-year romance with Cupid actress Sarah Paulson, 34.
"Before production began, Jodie was moping around complaining about her dead-end love life," said the source.
"Then Cherry signed on, and the two became instant friends. I think they bonded over their romantic woes and found they didn’t want to miss out on a great opportunity by getting to really know each other.
"Cherry flirts like crazy with Jodie on the set, calling her ‘sweetheart’ and ‘gorgeous.’ They have lunch and dinners together, sometimes with Mel (Gibson), sometimes alone. And it certainly looks like something special is blossoming between them."
Jokester Mel is always cracking up the ladies, the source said. "Mel is very protective of Jodie, so I think he’s thrilled that Cherry is helping her move on," said the insider.
"It might be premature to call it a red-hot romance, but Cherry and Jodie are definitely enjoying the time they spend together."
