ELLEN DeGENERES' “zero meat tolerance” gets shafted by JENNIFER LOPEZ’s steak initiative!
Jennifer Lopez is a whiz at recognizing talent on “American Idol,” but she doesn’t cut the mustard as a personal shopper!
The gorgeous superstar surprised good pal Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi with a gift certificate for steaks, but the two women are vegans!
“Jennifer recently gave Ellen and Portia a gift certificate good for a year’s supply of steaks from the famous Omaha Steaks company,” a source told The ENQUIRER.
“It completely slipped her mind that they believe eating meat is a no-no! While Ellen was grateful for the gift, she and Portia wouldn’t ever entertain the idea of cutting into a steak – or even serve it at a barbecue with friends.”
But with her gift for comedy, the Emmy-winning talk-show host managed to turn J.Lo’s misguided gift into a quip, said the source.
“Ellen joked with Portia that Jennifer has her hands so full with her hot new boyfriend Casper and ‘American Idol’ that she must have forgotten their zero-meat tolerance,” said the source.
Ellen, 53, has been a vegan since 2008, and celebrates it on her blog, “Going Vegan with Ellen.”
But Ellen wasn’t going to let all that beef go to waste.
“Ellen passed on the gift certificate to Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt,” the source divulged.
“After all, Brad and Angelina’s brood can really put away the groceries.”
