Aging funnyman Jerry Lewis set to launch The Nutty Professor on the Great White Way!
Jerry last seen on the boards as Mr Applegate aka The Devil in Damn Yankees in 1995 is mouting a new musical adaptation of his 1963 classic.
The comic caper variation on Jekyll & Hyde transformed Jer from nebbishy Julius Kelp to suave-o Buddy Love allegedly patterned after his ex-partner Dean Martin.
Music and lyrics will be by the award winning team of Marvin Hamlisch and Rupert Holmes.
No word on casting but suffice to say Eddie Murphy won’t be doing his version – not with Jer in the director’s chair.
