JENNIFER HUDSON THERAPY

description

Jennifer Hudson is seeing a therapist to help her cope with the brutal murders of her family, sources say.

"Jennifer is also on medication to help her from getting depressed," divulged a close family friend. "She’s getting better, but her progress is slow, and she’s still very fragile."

The former American Idol finalist will sing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl on Feb. 1 – her first performance since her mother Darnell Donerson, 57, her brother Jason Hudson, 29, and her 7-year-old nephew, Julian King, were found shot to death last October.

Yesterday her estranged brother-in-law William Balfour pleaded  not guilty after being charged with all three murders.

"After Jennifer watched them bury her family, she completely fell apart," the family friend confided. She went back to her condo and lay in bed crying for days. She hasn’t been the same since."

But close friends and family members recently began encouraging the Oscar-winning Dreamgirls star, 27, to sing again, added the source.

"A family member sat her down and said, ‘You know your mother would not want you to throw away your singing career,’" continued the source.

"Jennifer knew that was true, and she seemed to perk up. Jennifer says she wants to be as successful as she can because she knows her mother is looking down on her. She wants to make her proud."
