Country superstar Shania Twain reveals her three-year marriage to the jilted spouse of her ex-husband’s lover has finally brought her happiness.
In a rare candid interview, Shania – whose 1997 album “Come On Over” remains the best-selling country record of all time – gushed over Swiss businessman Frederic Thiebaud.
“Fred wears a lot of hats,” she told a reporter. “We travel a lot and are both very restless people who love variety.
“So being together a lot, it’s a very multi-dimensional life.”
Shania confessed that before meeting “Fred,” she “felt very insecure and inadequate.” Calling him “my partner,” she added: “(We) live our lives in tandem…We’re together a lot.”
The Canadian-born singer was married to producer Robert “Mutt” Lange – who produced four of her hit albums – for 14 years. Then she caught him having an affair with her BFF, Marie-Anne Thiebaud, who was also the pair’s property manager at their home in Switzerland.
After Shania divorced Lange in 2008, she cried on the shoulder of Marie-Anne’s jilted hubby, and in a bizarre “wife swap,” they fell in love. They now split their time between Switzerland, the Bahamas and Las Vegas with their children – her son Eja, 13, with Lange, and Frederic’s 14-year old daughter, Johanna, with his ex-wife.They now split their time between Switzerland, the Bahamas and Las Vegas with their children.
Shania described her life as “very busy and full” in the interview, and thanked Frederic for giving her happiness.
Frederic, a former executive with Nestle, most recently helped Shania open “Shania Kids Can Clubhouse” in her native Canada.Shania grew up dirt poor in Timmins, Ontario, and is now giving back to the community. Shania hasn’t toured since 2004, but says she’s working on a new studio album and plans to tour in 2015.
