Crushed after discovering wife Catherine Zeta-Jones’ “lies and betrayals,” Michael Douglas is in divorce agony!

The 70-year-old “Wall Street” star has collected a dossier of his wife’s shocking secrets as the superstar couple gear up for a $300 million divorce, sources told The National ENQUIRER.

“It’s left Michael in agony,” said a source close to the two-time Oscar winner. “While the dossier may help him in a divorce battle, it’s shattered him because he did everything to make the marriage work through very tough times!”

Michael believes Catherine, 45, lied to him in 2010 when he was battling Stage 4 throat cancer – denying she still had feelings for her former fiancé, British TV personality John Leslie, says the source.

“Michael was told that Catherine was turning to Leslie for support at the time, but she denied it. He now believes she lied to him,” added the source.

The “Basic Instinct” star also thinks his wife of 14 years, who’s been hospitalized several times for treatment of bipolar II
disorder, fibbed when she promised to quit drinking, the source said.

“Catherine hasn’t stopped drinking and Michael feels it’s really dangerous for the mother of his two kids to mix booze with medication she takes for her bipolar II
 condition,” the source said.

What’s more, Michael believes the Oscar-winning “Chicago” beauty “betrayed” him when she refused to accompany him to the 2014 Golden Globes when he won the Best Actor trophy for playing Liberace in HBO’s “Behind the Candelabra.”

Added the insider: “Michael felt betrayed again when Catherine refused to do any public celebrating with him for the duo’s joint birthday on Sept. 25.

“Turning 70 was a big accomplishment for Michael after surviving cancer. He was so ticked off, he let her know it, causing a massive fight between them. He told her, ‘I’ve had enough!’”

In March 2013, The ENQUIRER exclusively broke the bombshell that the A-list couple – parents of son Dylan, 14, and daughter Carys, 11 – had secretly split in a hush-hush trial separation. Five months later, their reps confirmed the breakup.

The two later tried to reconcile, but the marriage looks shattered for good after months, sources said. And in anticipation of an ugly divorce battle, parts of their real estate portfolio are going on the market.

In August, Michael listed a country mansion in Bedford, N.Y., for $8.1 million, and later put the couple’s lavish Majorcan retreat in the Mediterranean up for sale for $62 million.

Added the source: “Michael is getting rid of as many assets as possible because he knows Catherine will be looking to get a ton of money out of him.”
