The disgraced golfing great entered the six-week Gentle Path program in late December in a last-ditch attempt to keep his family together and save his career.
In the sensational ENQUIRER photos, a grim-looking Tiger no longer resembles the strapping, all-American athlete and family man. Instead he appears ill at ease and is apparently trying to disguise himself beneath a baseball cap and hoody – and with a new crop of facial hair.
Although Tiger, 35, did not want to enter rehab, furious wife Elin demanded he get help or she would end the marriage, according to a source close to the golfer.
The beautiful ex-model threatened to take their two young children and go to her home in Sweden unless he vowed to stop cheating and enter sex rehab. The serial cheater – who still thinks there is nothing wrong with him – tearfully agreed to the terms for her to call off the divorce, say insiders.
"After the scandal broke, Elin was constantly on Tiger, demanding answers," said the close source.
The source says Elin, 30, told him to get treatment and start taking responsibility for what he did.
The ENQUIRER previously reported Tiger is already already planning a comeback and hopes to the return to the PGA tour this spring. The King of Swing hopes his treatment, which began Dec. 30, will show the public, sponsors and his anguished wife that he intends to reform.
Located in a gritty, industrial area of Hattiesburg, the no-frills Gentle Path facility expects Elin to play a major role in her husband’s recovery.
In a "family week" phase of treatment, the program calls for Elin to spend seven full days of counseling with Tiger including a brutal "Disclosure Day," when the potent putter will be forced to face his wife and admit, in excruciatingly painful detail, each and every one of his adulterous dalliances.
