Oprah Winfrey could have been killed in an evil terror assassination if Feds hadn’t foiled a secret bomb plot in which she was the target.

A year after the talk show queen helped President Obama win his historic presidential election, Oprah shockingly found herself in the crosshairs of a small band of terrorists.

Citing unnamed “law enforcement and other sources,” Judicial Watch revealed that the conspirators had secured C-4 explosives – believed stolen from Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas – and an explosive trigger chemical, tannerite, from Mexico in 2009.

“They resented her popularity and power,” the report said of Oprah’s would-be killers.

Chillingly, they were also inspired by militant Islamist hatred of American military in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The plan was to place the deadly mixture into a trailer and a van, and detonate the vehicles at Oprah’s Harpo studios in Chicago where she taped her show. The terrorists also targeted the city’s famed skyscraper the Sears Tower.

Judicial Watch’s Director of Investigations and Research Chris Farrell told The National ENQUIRER the terrorists planned to set off their bombs by shooting the vehicles “with a high-powered rifle.”

But before the terrorists made it to Chicago, law enforcement authorities discovered the plot and intercepted the evil schemers within Illinois’ borders.

Two of the individuals cited in the report, Emad Karakrah and Hector Huerta, are currently in jail on unrelated charges, and another three remain at large – including Adnan Gulshair el Shukrijumah, who is on the FBI’s list of Most Wanted Terrorists.

“These people were looking to strike at just such an icon and (Oprah) would, no doubt, present a very tantalizing target,” Farrell told The ENQUIRER. “I believe they viewed her as a symbol. Certainly Oprah, the person, was the motivator.

“At that point she was at the height of her popularity with her influence and her relationship with Obama.”

Farrell said the plot remains mired in secrecy. He added Judicial Watch is
uncertain when Oprah became aware of the plot.
