CHARLIE HUNNAM exits title role in S&M thriller “Fifty Shades of Grey”, throwing film production into disaster mode.

“The filmmakers of Fifty Shades of Grey and Charlie Hunnamhave agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam’s immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christioan Grey,” the two studios behind the film version of the erotic thriller said in a surprise announcement on Saturday.

Hunnam stars on "Sons of Anarchy" on F/X  and he was expected to lead Fifty Shades through potentially several movies.

He was said to skittish over the frenzied  fan fervor of the so-called  sado-masochistic “romance”.

The Hollywood industry website The Wrap is calling the Hunnam development a “major problem” for a film that already has a scheduled release date.

THR reported that Hunnam was overwhlemed by the fan frenzy of bondage crazed femme devotees of the DeSade inspired love story and decided to bail.
