HUDSON FAMILY FUNERALS: MOURNERS UNITED IN GRIEF

Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother, nephew laid to rest today in Chicago.

Among the hundreds of mourners today were Rev. Jesse Jackson, Chicago Mayor Richard Daley who spoke at the three hour service for Darnell Hudson Donnerson, 47, Jason Hudson, 29 and Julian King, 7.

A strangely tranquil Jennifer gave her mother a final kiss, attendees later told press.

American Idol
winner Fantasia Barrino sang "Your Grace and Mercy", a gospel song and took the grieving Dreamgirls star by the hand and sung directly to her, according to The Chicago Tribune.

The funeral was limited to invitees only at the Apostolic Church of God but hundreds of onlookers shared their sympathy for the surviving members of the Hudson family who were tragically killed last week,

Suspect Michael Balfour, 27,  considered "a person of interest" in the case has not yet been formerly charged.  He is in custody for violating parole for his attempted murder conviction after serving seven years in prison.
