HOWARD STERN SUING RITA COSBY OVER BOOK

description

Howard K. Stern is suing former MSNBC host Rita Cosby for claiming in her new book Blonde Ambition: The Untold Story Behind Anna Nicole Smith’s Death that he and Larry Birkhead had sexual encounters.

The $60 million lawsuit was filed against Cosby on Tuesday in a Manhattan Federal Court. Stern, who was Anna Nicole Smith‘s ex-lover and lawyer, seeks $10 million in compensatory damages and $50 million in punitive damages from Cosby and Hachette Book Group USA.

In Stern’s lawsuit, he says Coby’s book falsely accuses him of criminal acts, homosexual acts, illegal possession and use of cocaine, conspiring to commit murder and kidnapping for ransom.

Blonde Ambition purports to be a ‘tell-all’ book, but it can only be accurately described as a ‘tell-all-lies’ book,” Stern’s lawyer, Lin Wood, said.

Is Larry Birkhead to sue? Birkhead’s attorney, M.L. Trope, said yesterday, “It’s just a matter of time” before his client files a libel suit of his own.
