The diva, 48, caused quite the scene on a Delta aircraft bound for Detroit but refused to buckle her seatbelt when asked by a flight attendant.
Multiple sources told the NY Daily News Houston refused to strap herself into her seat and when, a second crew member approached the singer, telling her if she didn't buckle up, she would be asked to deplane.
Faced with the prospect of being ejected, Houston allowed her buckle to be fastened just in time for to taxi down the runway.
Despite her long, long history of substance abuse, Whitney was sober, insiders divulged.
Houston "overreacted a little bit after missing an earlier flight but she's still 100% sober and was on the way to Detroit for her first day of shooting a new movie," the source said.
