Newlywed CHRISTINA APPLEGATE is making a last-ditch push to have another baby!

The TV cutie recently announced she’s quitting her sitcom “Up All Night,” and friends say it was to clear the decks for her hush-hush wedding to rocker Martyn LeNoble, and getting pregnant.

The couple tied the knot in a low-key ceremony in the backyard of their Los Angeles home on Feb. 23 in front of 10 non-celebrity guests, including their 2-year-old daughter Sadie Grace.

“Christina threw the ultimate anti-Hollywood wedding,” said an insider.

“The affair was casual and intimate with just family and a few close friends. There wasn’t an A-list celebrity in sight, which is just what Christina wanted.”

The former “Married…With Children” star, 41, decided early this year to ditch her struggling NBC sitcom in favor of focusing on her family, said the source.

“Christina also hated that producers were reformatting the series in mid-season,” said the source. “The minute she gave her notice, she started planning the wedding.

“Now she’s telling pals that her next priority is making one last push for another baby. Christina knows that at her age, and with her medical history, it’s a long shot, but she figures the acting roles can wait.”

The sitcom sweetheart battled breast cancer and underwent a double mastectomy in 2008, with Martyn nursing her through the ordeal.

As The ENQUIRER reported, Christina has recently been so stressed over her hectic work schedule that friends feared she was headed for a breakdown. The blonde beauty, who got engaged to Martyn in 2010, was complaining that she couldn’t find time to plan their wedding, and was telling friends that she wanted to shift gears and focus on feature films. She’s now prepping for the long-awaited sequel to the hilarious big-screen send-up of TV news, “Anchorman,” with Will Ferrell.

“Christina has been to hell and back, but the silver lining is that overcoming cancer helped her prioritize,” said the insider. “The horrendously long hours of doing a weekly TV series just don’t fit into her agenda anymore. She’ll be happy doing one or two movie roles a year, but most of all she wants to be a mom and a good wife.

“Christina told friends she and Martyn are working on baby-making. If she doesn’t get pregnant by natural means, she isn’t against looking into IVF or even adoption or surrogacy.”
