GWYNETH’S CANCER TEARS TURN TO JOY

TEARS HAVE turned to joy for Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow — her beloved dad has recovered from deadly throat cancer . . . with a lot of help from his devoted daughter.

“Gwyneth is thrilled and relieved. At one point she was terrified her father wouldn’t pull through,” disclosed an insider.

“It was during the making of ‘The Talented Mr. Ripley’ about two years ago that poor Gwyneth was broadsided with an emotional double whammy — her grandfather and her father Bruce were both diagnosed with cancer.”

Although her grandfather died, her father Bruce, the Emmy-winning director of “St. Elsewhere,” underwent both surgery and radiation treatments — but the most powerful therapy came from his family.

“Gwyneth rallied the family. Her mom, actress Blythe Danner, and her brother stayed on location during the making of Bruce and Gwyneth’s film ‘Duets’ to support him,” said the insider.

“Gwyneth checks on him every day. She and Blythe have been the best medicine!”
