NEARLY four years after Kate Hudson got engaged to British rocker Matthew Bellamy, they still haven’t set a wedding date – and her mom Goldie Hawn is furious!
“Goldie loves Matthew but she’s terrified they’re going to stretch out this engagement for so long, it will end up driving them apart,” a friend told The National ENQUIRER.
The “Almost Famous” star, 35, and Matthew, 36, lead singer for the band “Muse,” already have a three-year-old son, Bingham. Now Goldie, 69, wants them to make things legal for her grandson’s sake!
But Kate’s still smarting from her 2007 divorce from singer Chris Robinson, with whom she shares custody of their son, 10-year-old Ryder, sources claimed.
“Kate has a good relationship with Chris now, but she’s seen so many friends marry and regret it that it makes her nervous!” said a friend. “If it was up to Matthew, they’d be married tomorrow.”
Besides that, Kate points out that her mom has been in a relationship with actor Kurt Russell for 31 years – without ever tying the knot!
“But Goldie tries to convince her that Kate isn’t her, and she truly believes Kate needs to put down roots,” said a friend. “Most important, she wants Bingham’s parents to finally be married!”
