Good Morning America‘s Robin Roberts is doing well after surgery to remove a lump from her breast. “I am incredibly grateful that my surgery went well Friday. Thanks for all the prayers I owe you big time!”
Roberts, who co-anchors GMA with Diane Sawyer, wanted her message posted on the network’s Web site to update viewers on the status of her medical procedure.
Roberts also said, “I awoke from surgery to see Sawyer tugging on my big toe.”
In terms of recovery and when she expects to be back on the air, Roberts says, “Right now the best medicine for me is to be at home surrounded by family and loved ones. I expect to get the final test results later this week, which will determine the course of my treatment.”
