GEORGE CLOONEY: MY LOVER’S GOTTA LOVE MY WORKAHOLIC WAYS

Workaholic George Clooney says he’s too busy making movies to fall in love, and that’s just fine with him.

“I’m not suffering one bit,” the “Solaris” heartthrob and director of “Confessions of a Dangerous Mind” told an interviewer. “Relationships are difficult to sustain and I know from past experience that I’m not good at them.”

The 41-year-old actor, who has been involved in a series of romances since he divorced Talia Balsam in 1993, admits that work has priority over his love life, although he’s recently been linked with Renee Zellweger.

He requires a woman who’ll accept his being wrapped up in projects and away for months at a time, he says.

“I need a woman who has her own career and own life and is willing to accept the fact that I work a lot,” he said. “Sometimes I don’t go home for six months.

“I’m probably not the kind of guy who’s as generous or as attentive as some women think men should be.”

His unhappy childhood may be partly to blame for his attitudes, Clooney admits.

“My family was very good at covering up a lot of anger and unhappiness.

“I also went through hell in my marriage a while back and that wasn’t pleasant either.

“So I’ve become wary of getting deeply involved with women.”
