FOX NO-BRAINER OP

MICHAEL J. FOX hid a heartbreaking secret when he revealed his decision to forego brain surgery!

He’s putting his beloved family ahead of his health!

In a candid TV interview, the gutsy actor – who’s been battling Parkinson’s disease and its devastating physical effects since 1991 – claimed that he’s refusing to have a second brain operation until doctors can guarantee better results.

But sources close to the 49-year-old TV legend say the real reason he’s putting off the surgery is to protect the time he has left with his wife, actress Tracy Pollan, and their four children.

“Michael is making an excuse about waiting for advances in surgery,” a close friend told The ENQUIRER. “But the truth is that he’s putting his family first.

“Michael knows more surgery could dramatically help him. But he also knows there’s a chance it could leave him very severely disabled or even result in his death – and he won’t risk leaving Tracy to raise the kids by herself.”

Fox – who starred in the sitcoms “Family Ties” andSpin City and the blockbuster “Back to the Future” movies – suffers from tremors, limps, and at times struggles to speak due to the disease.

He underwent his first brain operation – a thalamotomy – on the right side of his brain, which controls the body’s left side, to alleviate tremors in 1998. But the five-time Emmy winner soon began to experience Parkinson’s symptoms on his right side.

“Doctors have told Michael that he should have surgery now on the left side of his brain, which controls his right side, but he continues to refuse,” a source divulged.

Michael knows that a second operation could help him, but he just won’t do it for the sake of his family.

“He doesn’t want to take a chance that surgery will leave his condition worse than it is now.”
