A sex scandal  involving NFL great Lawrence Taylor was put back in the spotlight today when high-powered celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred ripped into him at a press conference in NYC.

Allred, who just weeks ago unveiled one of the alleged sexual harassment accusers against Republican White House candidate Herman Cain, this time shared the podium with 18-year-old Cristina Fierro, who has publicly outed herself in a case against Taylor.

“L.T.,” former superstar linebacker for the New York Giants, was criminally charged with statutory rape in a prostitution incident last year.

He pleaded guilty to sexual misconduct and patronizing a prostitute last March for his conduct with Fierro, then 16. He was sentenced to six years of probation.

Police said the young woman was beaten by a pimp, who forced her to visit Taylor  in an upstate motel room where he engaged in sex acts with her. The pimp has since been sentenced to seven years in prison.

In a new development, Allred announced Fierro was filing a federal sex trafficking lawsuit against the 6-foot-3 and 240-pound former pro football player, who is 51.

The lawsuit seeks monetary damages for Fierro in excess of $75,000.

After the presser, Allred told The ENQUIRER’s website: "Cristina wants to see Lawrence Taylor go to jail, instead he got probation. He needs to be responsible in damages if she wins her case."

Victim Cristina added: "I feel as though he should be held accountable for his crimes against me. I have never had sex for money and I will never forget what happened with Mr. Taylor in that room that night.

"I believe that Mr. Taylor could see my swollen eye. I did not want to have sex with him. I was crying and instead of comforting me and changing his mind about what he had planned to do, he took full advantage of me.

"I want to have a voice and speak out about what has been done to me and the importance of sexual exploitation of children. Buyers should have the same penalties as pimps."

Responding to the new legal action, Taylor's New York attorneys Aidala & Bertuna said: "It's a shame that, once again, Gloria Allred's intoxication with media coverage for her cases has blurred her vision to uphold the highest level of ethical and moral standards to which attorney's are supposed to here."

But Cristina, who has now cleaned up her life and works at a local Target store, added, "I plan to stand up for my rights  and I am happy that Ms Allred has agreed to support me in this battle."
