FIRST DUDE TODD PALIN SUBPOENAED IN TROOPERGATE

description

Alaska lawmakers have voted to subpoena Republican VP Candidate Sarah Palin’s husband Todd in the ongoing Troopergate investigation.

Republican efforts to delay the investigation until after the November 4 Presidential election were foiled when GOP State Senator Charlie Huggins who represents Wasilla took a break from moose hunting.

“Let’s just get the facts on the table,” Huggins stated.

The investigation is gathering evidence on whether or not Gov. Palin abused her gubernatorial powers by firing Walt Monegan, the state’s director of public safety after he refused to can Mike Wooten, a state trooper who had divorced Sarah Palin’s sister.

While First Dude Todd Palin’s role in the dismissal is unclear at this juncture, he spurned earlier calls to testify voluntarily.  Investigator Stephen Branchflower felt that Todd was “such a central figure” in the case that a subpoena “should be issued for him.”

Although Todd does not  hold an official position in Alaska government he attends meetings, and is CC-ed e-mails pertaining to official business.

Branchflower also requested a subpoena of Palin administration official Frank Bailey.  Bailey had been recorded phoning an Alaska State Trooper and discussing confidential information about Mike Wooten including his workman’s comp claim and job application..

In a deposition taken by an attorney representing Palin, he testified he never saw Wooten’s file but received the information from Todd Palin.
