"We’ve BOTH made mistakes. But we’re starting over because we want a baby."
That’s what Fergie told a close friend in the wake of her husband Josh Duhamel’s headline-making fling with a busty blonde stripper.
In a bombshell ENQUIRER exclusive, stripper Nicole Forrester revealed shocking details of her steamy hotel room romps with Transformers hunk Josh after they met at Atlanta’s totally nude club Tattletales in early October.
Josh’s reps have denied the cheating allegations, but the actor has admitted the truth to his wife, a source said.
Now the two intend to get their 10-month marriage back on track and make baby-making their top priority.
"Fergie is livid, but she’s trying to look at the bigger picture. She’s focusing on what they have, not Josh’s shortcomings," said the source.
"Josh wants a do-over, and Fergie loves him so much, she’s willing to do anything to keep him."
Josh, who just turned 37, starred on the NBC series Las Vegas and is a former model. He was once known for being a playboy, but he toned down his image after he met Fergie in 2004. Still, friends warned her that Josh wouldn’t be able to stay faithful if they married.
And as The ENQUIRER has reported, the 34-year-old Black Eyed Peas singer brought her own problems to the union, clashing with Josh over her refusal to slow down her rock star-lifestyle and start a family.
In July, Fergie got so sick after bingeing on vodka and tequila at a Hollywood club that she had to be escorted out through the kitchen, according to a source.
"Fergie is owning up to her shortcomings. She knows her career and party habits have had a big impact on their marriage," the source said.
"She told a friend, ‘Josh and I have both made mistakes. But we’re still in love. We’re going to make this marriage work. We’re starting over because we want a baby.’"
Another friend confirmed the couple will be trying for a baby.
"Fergie is waiting for her tour to end to start trying," added the source.
Her friend added: "Fergie is ready to be a wife and mother. And she’s giving Josh a second chance.
