UPDATE: Dancing With the Stars, Indy 500 champ Helio Castroneves pleads not guilty on tax charges.
Castroneves was accused of hiding millions in income from the IRS in offshore accounts.
The former Indianapolis 500 racing champ is charged with conspiracy and six counts of tax evasion of approximately $5.5 million in income from 1999 -2004, according to court papers.
Helio, a Brazilian, currently ranks second in the IndyCar point standings and won the 2007 DWTS with partner Julie Hough.
"This case sends a clear message that the IRS is committed to vigorously enforcing the tax laws and stopping offshore tax evasion," IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman stated.
