A expert witness in the pretrial hearing of accused murder mom CASEY ANTHONY testified today the smell coming from the defendant’s vehicle was unmistakable.

A scent expert said today that the smell coming from Anthony’s car vividly smelled of human decomposition that he had to step away from the stench.

Dr. Arpad Vass, a researcher at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, told Judge Belvin Perry and attorneys for both the prosecution and defense in the admissible evidence debate about methodology used to test the air from Casey Anthony’s trunk.

Prosecuting attorney for the State of Florida Jeff Ashton established Vass has spent his whole life detecting and identifying odors.

Vass stated the scent of human decomposition is unmistakable.

Ashton asked Vass how he reacted when he opened the bag that had the sample of carpet from the back of Casey’s car.

"At first, I jumped back about 2 feet because the odor was so strong. But it was definitely the smell of human decomposition," Vass replied.

Whether or not Vass’s testimony will be allowed to be presented to the yet-to-be selected jury in the sensational murder trial of Casey Anthony is yet to be determined.

As The Enquirer reported previously Anthony stands accused of the premeditated murder of her 2 year old child Caylee in 2008.

The trial begins in May.
