Oscar winner JAMES WOODS spills his guts to The ENQUIRER about his bustup to 40 years younger GF!
THEY said it wouldn’t last – and they were right! Actor James Woods managed to hang on to his 40-years-younger girlfriend for seven years, but now the curvy blonde has fallen for a guy who’s closer to her age.
The “Shark” star, 66, confirmed in an exclusive ENQUIRER interview that he’s split from sexy Ashley Madison, who began dating Woods when she was 19.
“Ashley was young and I was old, and everybody wanted to dump on her,” Woods told The ENQUIRER.
“She was put through a lot of unfair stuff because of our relationship, but through it all Ashley showed tremendous character.
“We’ve gone our separate ways, but I will always love her.”
The craggy-faced actor, who starred as a hustler who cons Sharon Stone in “Casino,” said Ashley helped him through the heartbreak of losing his beloved kid brother, Michael, who died of a heart attack at age 49 in 2006.
At the time, Ashley – the daughter of one of Woods’ best pals – was slammed in the press for wearing a miniskirt and chain-smoking during his brother’s funeral service.
“But I want the world to know that nothing could be further from the truth,” Woods declared.
“Mean-spirited people who wanted to hurt Ashley made up that story.”
In 2011, The ENQUIRER reported that Ashley had hoped for an engagement ring from Woods on her 25th birthday.
But the twice-divorced actor never popped the question, and they split while he focused on his mother Martha, who died at age 86 after a prolonged illness last year.
“I had to give all my attention to my mom and it wasn’t fair to Ashley,” Woods said.
Ashley now lives in Florida and has fallen for 28-year-old businessman Joe Spinella, who runs the popular Teak restaurant in Daytona Beach.
Her new beau has given her “a promise ring” and they’re working together to expand his business, Ashley told The ENQUIRER.
“I’m happy now, but I will always have special feelings for James,” she said. “We had some great times together.”
Meanwhile, Woods – who’s featured in several upcoming films – is moving on. “I’ve met someone who is not in the business,” he said. “We’ll see where it goes.”
