Rumored liaison with former protégé rears ugly head in ongoing Cosby “sexual molestation” scandal.
As Bill Cosby’s “sexual molestation” scandal continues unabated with more accusers – former “Head of the Class” star Robin Givens’ name has also surfaced, The National ENQUIRER has learned.
While Robin has never accused Cosby of any wrongdoing, Internet rumors over the years claimed he was smitten with her, with one online poster even alleging, “Cosby had an affair with Robin.”
While neither Robin nor her mother would comment to The ENQUIRER about the Cosby scandal, a source divulged: “Her name has surfaced, and it could fuel new rumors about the extent of their relationship many decades ago about a secret fling.”
After Robin, then 20, appeared on “The Cosby Show,” Cosby convinced her and her mother, Ruth Roper, that the young actress was destined for greatness, and persuaded Robin to abandon her studies at Harvard University for Hollywood.
Cosby then became a real-life father figure to Robin, and she even lived with his family in California when he helped her land her big break – the role of Darlene Merriman in the ABC sitcom, “Head of the Class,” in the mid 1980s.
Robin, now 50, has since become an outspoken advocate against domestic violence following her 1988 divorce from boxer Mike Tyson.
In a bizarre twist, a year after Robin’s split from Tyson, the former heavyweight champ was accused by Cosby’s daughter Erinn, then 22, of trying to sexually assault her after they met at a New York City nightclub.
Meanwhile, Cosby is fighting off new accusations. Meanwhile, joining more than 20 women in accusing the shamed comic of abuse is Sammy Davis Jr.’s former girlfriend Katherine McKee.
While Cosby’s lawyers have vehemently denied he attacked any women, Katherine claimed Cosby raped her in the 1970s when she was on tour with Sammy.
