The gorgeous, dark-haired 26-year-old grew up with an abusive father who was committed to a psych ward after twice threatening to kill himself.
“If Sean does end up giving Catherine the final rose,” said an insider, “she is going to have some explaining to do about her father’s past.”
According to court documents obtained exclusively by The ENQUIRER, Catherine’s mother, Cynthia Mejia-Giudici, took out an order of protection in June 2001 against her then-husband, Carey.
In her complaint, she stated that Carey, who suffered from mental illness, had threatened her – and himself – with a knife.
The restraining order also detailed a history of verbal abuse and violence toward other family members
At one point, she says, Carey “threatened himself with a knife, yelling, ‘How would you like MY blood on your hands?’
Because of the domestic horrors she witnessed as a child, Catherine – a 5-foot-4 dynamo who works for Amazon.com – vowed she would never fall victim to an abusive relationship, says the source.
