ANGELINA JOLIE is staying in character as MALEFICENT at home – AND scaring the wits out of her kids!
The 37-year-old Oscar winner is currently playing the title role in “Maleficent,” known as the fiendish “Mistress of All Evil,” in a new version of the 1959 animated Disney classic “Sleeping Beauty.”
Determined not to break character, method actress Angie has been wearing Maleficent’s hideous makeup and fearsome costume at home, sources say, and her six children are petrified!
“Angelina’s role in the movie is a wicked sorceress who’s half-woman and half-dragon,” a source told The ENQUIRER.
“On the film set in London, she wears terrifying makeup and huge horns, which is a frightening prospect for anyone. But she’s also been taking her ‘Maleficent’ role home to the rental mansion where she and Brad Pitt are staying with their brood, and she’s like a living nightmare to her kids!
“When she first showed up wearing a long gown and reciting her lines like her super-nasty character, they thought it was funny. But now it’s just creeping them out!”
The couple’s twin son Knox, who’s nearly 4, seems to be the most affected.
“Every time Knox sees his mom he runs away, although Angelina manages to soothe him when she gets out of costume,” said the source.
The actress, who is also an executive producer on the film, feels her brood will love the finished product, added the source.
“Angelina has wanted to play the role of Maleficent since childhood,” said the source. “And she hopes that when all is said and done, it was worth scaring the pants off her kids.”
