ENQUIRER TOP STORIES OF THE YEAR!

NationalEnquirer.com

ENQUIRING minds still WANT to know – and 2012 was a banner year for The ENQUIRER!

Early in the year we broke the heartbreaking exclusive that superstar Whitney Houston was back on drugs and had collapsed after leaving her Beverly Hills doctor’s office on Feb. 2. Just three days after seeing our issue in the gift shop of the Beverly Hilton – and freaking out about it – the 48-year-old Grammy winner drowned in a bathtub in her suite at the hotel. Coroners said cocaine was in her system.

A month later, in our March 12 issue, we published shocking still photos taken from a 2011 video of Whitney’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina, doing hits of marijuana from a bong. It was the second time The ENQUIRER had obtained video proof that the young woman was headed down the same dangerous path as her mother.

IN JANUARY, we revealed O.J. SIMPSON believes he’s Khloe Kardashian’s REAL dad! The reality star’s mother Kris Jenner and O.J. were very close when she was married to Robert Kardashian, a longtime pal of the disgraced killer and a part of his legal “dream team.”

Then, in June, we stunned the world by revealing that John Travolta had a six-year gay relationship with his former pilot, Doug Gotterba. Later on, we published an exclusive interview with Gotterba, who shared intimate and kinky sex secrets about the Hollywood big shot along with never-before-seen photos of him and Travolta during their relationship.

In our Aug. 6 issue, as the nation mourned the victims of the Aurora, Colo., movie theater massacre, The ENQUIRER delved deep into the mind of gunman James Holmes and revealed to readers the reasons why he snapped as well as his initial plan – to kill “Dark Knight” stars Christian Bale and Anne Hathaway at the New York premiere of the blockbuster.

Just a week after that bombshell, we revealed that former “Home Alone” child star Macaulay Culkin was addicted to heroin and prescription drugs. In our stunning report, we disclosed that the 32-year-old was regularly shooting up both heroin and the powerful prescription painkiller oxycodone. Sources told us that Culkin, who was spending up to $6,000 a month on his deadly habit, also admitted that he’d nearly overdosed.

The ENQUIRER did it again in our Oct. 15 issue, when we were the ONLY publication to obtain Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ divorce papers. The documents revealed that Katie would receive $400,000 a year in child support and that the A-list couple’s marriage was over at least six months before Katie filed for divorce in June. They also revealed that Katie had signed a prenuptial agreement and that she’d been awarded sole custody of their 6-year-old daughter, Suri.

And that’s just a small sample of all the home runs we’ve hit this year! Those cover stories, along with so many others, show why year after year, The ENQUIRER leaves in the dust!
