Nearly a year ago The ENQUIRER FIRST reported trouble in Avril Lavigne‘s marriage and she and hubby Sum 41 rocker Deryck Whibley were heading for splitsville. Guess what? We were right AGAIN!
In our print and web editions last week we reported Deryck wanted to try and save the marriage by having a baby and Avril would rather continue rocking in the free world, putting the couples shaky marriage close to the breaking point.
Yesterday the singer confirmed The ENQUIRER’S ongoing reports by posting on her blog that her marriage was kaput.
"Deryck and I have been together for six and a half years," Avril blogged.
"We have been friends since I was 17, started dating when I was 19, and married when I was 21. I am grateful for our time together, and I am grateful and blessed for our remaining friendship. I admire Deryck and have a great amount of respect for him. He is the most amazing person I know, and I love him with all my heart.
"Deryck and I are separating and moving forward on a positive note."
So, as per usual, if you want the real news before anyone else stick with The ENQUIRER or just believe those fairy tales spun by celeb publicists in fan mags.
