ELLEN BEATS THE VIEW AT DAYTIME EMMYS

Ellen DeGeneres took top honors at Daytime Emmy on Friday, June 15. She even beat out the ladies of The View who were favored to take home an award this year due to the addtion of Rosie O'Donnell. "I really am shocked," DeGeneres — who won for both best talk show and best talk-show host — said on stage. "I thought Rosie brought a lot of new viewers to daytime television and it was interesting."

Bob Barker — who was celebrating his retirement — also had a big night, picking up two Emmys for The Price Is Right.

On the soap side, As the World Turns scored seven wins but it was The Young and the Restless and Guiding Light that shared the outstanding drama series title. One highlight of the night was General Hospital star Genie Francis' win for best supporting actress. "I have waited 31 years for this moment," Francis, who plays Laura Spencer, said.
