ELIZABETH EDWARDS “RELIEVED”

description

Cancer stricken wife of John Edwards breathes sigh of relief now that disgraced hubby ‘fesses up to love child paternity.

Elizabeth Edwards told AP her "whole family feels relieved".

Edwards also said she believes John Edwards is also relieved to put the matter behind him.

NBC’s Today Show reported she had split with John and they were living separately but Elizabeth declined to confirm her marital status, saying, "My marriage shouldn’t be on anybody’s radar screen except mine."

John Edwards’ attorney, Wade Smith, said Edwards wrestled with the decision to come forward but took so long to do it because "he’s not the only person involved in this."

"It’s a complex family situation, and he had to keep in mind that other people have concerns and worries about it," Smith said.

Smith told media there would never be a logical explanation for why Edwards repeatedly denied being the father, adding that Edwards was "very pleased" to finally set the record straight.

As the ENQUIRER has reported previously John Edwards IS still under investigation by a Federal Grand Jury trying to determine whether Edwards misused Presidential Campaign Funds to engineer a cover-up –  hiding a series of hush money payments to mistress Rielle Hunter, the mother of his love child, Frances Quinn.

Both Hunter and former loyalist Andrew Young, who had previously claimed paternity, have testified before the Grand Jury.
