EASTWOOD AT RNC: “MAKE MY DAY!”

CLINT EASTWOOD

CLINT EASTWOOD stole the show at the Republican National Convention with an ad-libbed speech that included talking to an empty chair as if PRESIDENT OBAMA was sitting in it.

Political pundits are abuzz over Eastwood's off-script chat with the invisible president. He even delivered his famous line from as Dirty Harry from "Sudden Impact" (1983) challenging, "Go ahead, make my day!"

MITT ROMNEY, who later accepted the Republican nomination, stuck to the TelePrompter when he gave his speech.

Romney's campaign responded to criticism of Eastwood's pep talk in a statement saying, "Judging an American icon like Clint Eastwood through a typical political lens doesn't work. His ad libbing was a break from all the political speeches, and the crowd enjoyed it. He rightly pointed out that 23 million Americans out of work or underemployed is a national disgrace and it's time for a change."
