Duck, JENNIFER LAWRENCE – a “re-freshed” face RENEE ZELLWEGGER is gunning for your career!
After lying low for a few years, the 44-year-old “Bridget Jones’s Diary” actress is angling for a Hollywood comeback – and she’s looking at the much-younger “Hunger Games” star as a role model.
Renee is not only trying out for the same film projects as Jennifer, she’s also making herself over to look like her.
“Renee is obsessed,” disclosed an insider. “Ever since Jennifer broke through in (the 2010 drama) ‘Winter’s Bone,’ Renee has been watching her career closely.”
According to the insider, Renee admires how the young actress juggles big-budget popcorn movies like “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” and “X-Men” with more thoughtful projects such as “Like Crazy” and “Silver Linings Playbook,” for which she won a Best Actress Oscar.
And despite the age difference, Renee ordered her agents to get her the same scripts 23-year-old Jennifer is being offered.
“It sounds crazy, but Renee sees a lot of her younger self in Jennifer,” said the insider. “She’s even restyling herself to fit Jennifer’s mold.”
On Nov. 2, Renee stepped out with a drastically different look. It appears she underwent a cosmetic procedure to open up her trademark “squinty” eyes – and now she bears an uncanny resemblance to Jennifer.
Since her last big-screen appearance in 2010’s “My Own Love Song” – which went straight to DVD in the U.S. after a showing at the Tribeca Film Festival – Renee has been focusing on her personal life.
As The ENQUIRER recently reported, the actress and her boyfriend, musician Doyle Bramhall II, are planning to adopt a child in the near future.
“Now that she’s happy, in love and gearing up for a baby, she’s ready to storm back into the Hollywood game,” said the insider. “And she believes that by modeling herself after Jennifer Lawrence, she’ll soar back into A-list career glory again.”
