Amid outrage that tubby shrink guru Dr. Phil bailed a YouTube beat-teen out of jail, producers have scrubbed the ep.
A gang of Lakeland, Florida teens drew national attention when the girls viciously attacked a cheerleader at their high school, video taping the assault and then uploading it to the internet. Millions have been shocked by the girl-on-girl brutality.
Dr. Phil’s producers paid over three thousand dollars to bail Mercedes Nichols, 17, from jail to appear on his show.
A spokeswoman for Dr. Phil aka Phil McGraw sent an e-mail to the press.
“Certain staff members went beyond our guidelines,” Terri Corigliano wrote. “We have decided not to go forward with the story.”
This is not the first time Dr. Phil has ended up with egg on his face.
