DOWNEY TO SLEUTH FOR MADONNA GUY
Iron Man Robert Downey, Jr. has shelved his armor to don deerstalker and pipe for Guy Ritchie's new Sherlock Holmes flick.
As The ENQUIRER previously reported last week, a rival Holmes film has been announced but that doesn't deter determined Madonna hubby Ritchie. His Holmes will be a straight adaptation of Conan Doyle's classic sleuth but will also feature the detective as a manly proponent of fisticuffs, swordplay and burly he-man action.
That other Holmes film is a comedy with Sacha Baron Cohen and Will Ferrel as Holmes and Watson and appears to be a gay, mad romp through uptight Victorian England. There's no director attached yet.
Downey was brought on board Holmes by his wife Susan, who is one of the new producers on Brit director's gangsta thriller Rocknrolla,
Now word yet whether Madonna will appear as "The Woman" mysterious femme fatale Irene Adler - the only woman the celebrated bachelor detective ever loved.
