NEW DETAILS: Love is either blind or really really stupid as Cameron Douglas GF allegedly tries to smuggle him heroin while under house arrest.
Cameron Douglas, 30, the son of actor Michael Douglas and grandson of Hollywood legend Kirk Douglas, was arrested recently after undercover cops found a half a pound of meth on the troubled Douglas spawn at the posh swanky Hotel Gansevoort.
Law enforcement officials building a case against Cam for "intent to sell" and is accused of running a well-oiled drug operation, selling large amounts of methamphetamine between New York and LA, delivering meth in person or via Fed Ex.
DEA agents revealed Cam’s GF, Kelly Sott , 31, was caught after giving him an electric toothbrush at his mother Diandra Douglas‘ home where court-appointed guards confiscated the "glad bag".
Hidden inside the handle of the toothbrush were 19 glassine dime bags of heroin, a criminal complaint for her arrest stated.
When Sott was arrested by feds, she stated "that she was not aware of the contents of the toothbrush that she delivered," according to the criminal complaint.
Cops found heroin, crystal meth and pot in her room. Sott is being held without bail, and a federal magistrate ordered treatment for heroin addiction and hypertension.
"She was strung out and desperate, as was he," a law enforcement source divulged.
UPDATE: Cameron Douglas has been transferred to a federal lockup. Douglas faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison if convicted and could face life in prison.
